After more than 30 years away, I have moved back to where I started, Dorset. When I was growing up, friends of my parents would visit us and say how our part of west Dorset was the most beautiful part of the country. I believed them and for years did not explore the rest of the UK because I had already seen the best bit. After leaving home, I found myself in the Lake District, wondering what other misinformation I had been fed and had accepted as the truth without question. Anyway, the fact that there are many other picturesque parts of the British Isles, does not detract from the stunning views on offer in West Dorset.
